Lately a lot of tech bloggers seem extremely enthusiastic about Samsung's operating system "Tizen" and even naming it a competitor of Android , Personally I don't see how it could be a rival to Google's Android in any way; and I'll give you four reasons why:

1- It's not the first open source operating system out there

Actually there are quite a handful of open source operating systems that have made it to our smartphones and tablets such as Ubuntu Touch, FireFox OS and Open WebOS, some tried to force a heavily modified interface like what Amazon did with their Kindle devices but eventually Android rolled.

2- Tizen will miss something very important, Developers' interest

Android have been highly endorsed by the developers community as much as by the public, one of Android's strong selling points was the variety and the adoption rate from pretty much the majority of OEMs worldwide.

Tizen is the product of Samsung -and Intel among others- and I don't see companies like LG, Sony or HTC jumping to it... not in the near or far future, Think of it like Google+, The social network that is used pretty much by Google employees and a handful of people.

3- Samsung won't force it on us, or should I say "won't risk it"

Samsung will begin to offer devices running both Android and Tizen - Separately of course - and speaking for quite a huge chunk of Samsung's die hard fans -Whom are also Android's die hard fans- We're not willing to give up on Android that easy especially that Android has just began to expand and reach home appliances , wearables, cars and even our houses, It still has a lot of room to develop and become an essential part of our daily lives, People will go with the Android virant and even if the Tizen version came off strongly marketed by Samsung, The developers army will find a way to introduce Android to these devices.

4- Tizen is in early development stages

Tizen, The two years old OS; could take up a new fashionable look and grow to fit certain expectations but we're not even close to that, At the moment Tizen is an early imitation of Android OS, it needs a lot of work to reach the stability of other operating systems out there and no matter how many developers Samsung is putting behind it, it can't turn out to perfection over night, it took Android several years to do so and I don't think Tizen is there yet.

With all that being said, Personally, I would love to have a spin at it but I for one am a believer of the power of Google and I won't simply switch from an operating system that is heavily backed as Android. I don't see Tizen as a threat to Google's Android.

What do you think?
