Fashion went four-eyed on Sunday, as Google sent its high-tech glasses down the runway at the Diane Von Furstenberg show at New York Fashion Week... Models at the DVF show strutted down the runway in the tech company’s futuristic frames as they displayed the designer’s couture.
Google founder Sergey Brin then joined Von Furstenberg on the catwalk at the end of the show, walking the runway with the iconic designer and DVF creative director Yvan Mispelaere as they each showed off a pair of the glasses.
The skinny frames gave off a hint of Star Trek style, as barely-visible lenses floated under a space-age bar that jutted out from the forehead.

The glasses were fitted with small swatches of colorful accents to match the hues of the garments, and differed from model to model.
The glasses, which debuted in June at Google’s I/O conference in San Francisco, contain a camera, a display screen and a processor that lay information over your environment so that you can interact with the world around you almost as if you were looking at it on a smartphone.
A demo that accompanied the launch showed the glasses alerting their wearer to things like the location of the nearest subway and the weather report, as well as updates on the locations of your friends and the ability to send and receive messages.

The fashion collaboration on Sunday blurred the line between technology and style as the label posted a series of pictures snapped with the frames from both backstage and on the runway on the brand’s Google+ page.
The project was promoted with the hashtag #DVFthroughGlass, which is also the name of the video the label will post on Sept. 13, made up of footage shot with the glasses.

Developed under the name Project Glass, the frames will be delivered to developers who pre-ordered them by early 2013, for a cost of $1500.
They are not yet available to the public.
