So today was the official release date for the Samsung GALAXY S4 mini GT-I9190 and the device comes with a very similar design to the all mighty S4 but with lower specs, so instead of talking about it i'll will be comparing it to the older Galaxy S3 mini. lets talk some specs:

Power

Under the hood of the beautifully crafted S4 mini is a dual core Snapdragon 400 processor, Yes the S3 mini also has a dual core cortex-A9 NovaThor processor, but a dual core Snapdragon is the equivalent  - Theoretically - of a Cortex quad core processor, Let's talk GPU, The S4 mini comes with a very powerful Adreno 305 graphics processor unite which is a very good GPU, pretty close to the one on the Nexus 4 ( Adreno 320 ). The previous mini has a Mali 400 GPU which is okay to run basic to mid level graphical rich games.

The S4 mini comes baring twice as much RAM as the S3 mini, An extra GB of RAM is always a good thing and it makes the S4 mini a pretty decent phone for multitasking.

Connectivity

The S4 comes with 4G LTE support, which is becoming a more common thing in 2013 phones, something that a lot of phones from 2012 like the S3 mini is missing, NFC is only available in one model of the S4 mini The i9195 which probably is the Verizon or T-Mobile version. The S4 mini also has an IR chip which is used as a universal controller.

Camera

The S4 mini comes with the same camera that the Galaxy S3 has, an 8 MP camera with all the goodies from the S4 software (Sound & Shot, Continues shot etc) and it takes 1080p video, the S3 mini didn't have the luck of the S4 mini, It has a 5 MP back camera that takes 720p video and a VGA front facing camera unlike the one on the S4 mini which has a 1.9 MP front facing camera.

Screen and Size

The S4 mini comes with a slightly larger screen than the S3 mini, A 4.3 inch screen with a 256 ppi at 540 x 960 pixels, the S3 mini comes with a 4 inch screen with a 233 ppi at 480 x 800 pixels, now both screen are only Super AMOLED but not HD due to the size of the screen and i'm guessing it also has to do with production costs.

Juice

The S3 mini has a very low capacity battery, at 1500 mAh it won't last for long especially for power users or only users who keep their 4G on or simply play a lot of games, the S4 mini comes with a 1900 mAh battery which is still not that big comparing to monster phones like the Note 2 but still it's very close to the S3 ( 2100 mAh ) and with a small screen it won't be a huge battery drainer.

OS

Samsung is praising Android 4.2.2 almost in all 2013 models, basically it gives you the same experience you get from the Galaxy S4, it certainly is on the list of devices to get the highly anticipated Android 4.3. unlike the S3 which is only supported til Android 4.2.2 and it won't get updated any further.
